Roof leak checklist

Find the likely entry path before paying for a complete new system.

1. Start with drains

Look for ponding, blocked drains or drains set above the surrounding surface.

2. Check edges and parapets

Look for membrane separation, cracked terminations, open caps or water entering above the membrane.

3. Check every penetration

Air-conditioning bases, pipes, cables, vents and fasteners are common weak points.

4. Do not chase the interior stain

Water can travel under layers and appear inside far from the original entry point.
